Following the wild Star Watch Party
What better way to celebrate Godly Play than to bring a group of family, friends, and neighbors together to learn about Godly Play? Hear about the history of the organization, how it has impacted lives around the world, and what the future might look like! Gather virtually or safely host in person party on October 9th around the premier of the virtual gala at 4:00 (EDT) or anytime after that! Watch parties typically chose a giving goal for your guests to try to complete.
What is a watch party?
Since we can't celebrate the 30th anniversary of Godly Play in person, we are celebrating virtually with a 30 minute video premiering on YouTube on Oct. 9th at 4 pm (EDT). Celebrations are often more fun with community! A watch party is an opportunity to invite your community to watch the Godly Play celebration, and inspire others to learn about and donate to Godly Play (in person or online).
How do I host a watch party?
As you support us, we want to support you so we put together a watch party toolkit. It includes a planning guides, decorating ideas, invitation templates, scheduling suggestions and menu ideas. We also have a Following the Wild Star Recipe Book, with food and drinks curated just for this event! If you register to host a watch party by September 13th we will send you a watch party starter kit in the mail (for U.S. hosts only).
Do I have to ask for donations?
While part of this celebration is a fundraiser, most importantly we want to spread the good news of the work of Godly Play and invite our community to celebrate together, so there is no pressure to ask guests for donations! The YouTube video will provide anyone inspired by the story and vision the opportunity to give money through our donation page, a text-to-give option, or mailing in a donation. You also have the option to set up your own personal fundraising page for the celebration. Visit the donation page and click on “I Want to Fundraise for This.”
