Advent week 1: Following the Wise Ones

What’s one word you might chose to describe Godly Play?

One of the joys of my first year as the Executive Director for the Godly Play Foundation was meeting so many of you and hearing your stories. Every week I get to hear stories of children making profound connections and of circles of children inspiring deep wonder with one another. I am continually reminded of the ways that Godly Play invites children and adults deeper into a faith that is open to wonder, play, silence, and finding one's true self in the midst of a chaotic world.

In our Advent story, we remember the wise ones who followed the wild star that brought them to the child who would change everything. Our lives are filled with wild star journeys, with twists and turns we can’t anticipate, bringing us to places, people, and experiences that will change everything.

This season of Advent, we are sharing Godly Play wild star stories to give you a glimpse of the depth and breadth of the Godly Play stories that make up this global movement.

I hope you enjoy these reflections as much as I do! As you hear these stories, I invite you to join us in growing Godly Play for the next 30 years. Help us reach our financial goals so we can live into our dreams to increase accessibility to our training and materials, build a diverse network of trainers and storytellers who can support Godly Play around the world, and continue to support the growing interest in Godly Play in new communities, churches and schools.

I am grateful to be on this journey of following the wild star with you
