Circle of we Training support

  • The goal of this scholarship program is to increase access to Core Training, and by extension improve Godly Play practice in the U.S. Priority is given to individuals who have not attended Core Training previously.

Applicants must reside in the U.S. and select trainings led by U.S. Licensed Godly Play Trainers.

Scholarship requests should result in completion of a full Core Training credential (22+ contact hours). Requests will be entertained for Core Retreats or participation in all three modules of a single Commuter Core Series. A very limited number of scholarship seats are available for Online Core Training, so we do not recommend applicants select this option unless there is no onsite training available to them. At this time, we are not accepting scholarship requests for topical workshops, advanced training, or individual commuter modules.

Limited funding is available. In order to serve as many Godly Players as possible, the Circle of We Fund uses a pay-what-you-can model, and the number of scholarships awarded will vary. Applicants should consider what amount they can contribute prior to submitting an application, as this amount will form their registration deposit for the session.

  • Requests for training scholarships are considered in the order they are received, with most decisions released within 14 business days.

We suggest submitting your request 6-8 weeks prior to the training start date, if possible, so that award notification can be shared with sufficient time to reserve your seat in the training and make travel arrangements.

If you need assistance selecting the right training, please reach out to registration@godlyplayfoundation.org

  • All recipients of Circle of We support must agree to respond to feedback requests (2-4 over 12 months). We will check in to ask a few brief questions to learn what impact Circle of We is having on your Godly Play work.

Recipients of a training scholarship are expected to:

    1) Read Teaching Godly Play or complete any alternate reading assigned by the Trainer(s) for their chosen training.

    2) Attend and participate fully in the entire training. For Core Retreats, there is usually a time commitment of 3 consecutive days. We will entertain scholarship requests for an individual to participate in all 3 1-day modules of a Commuter Core Series. For Online Core Training, this requires active engagement in six consecutive virtual meetings over a 6-8 week period.

    3) Complete the training evaluation within 2 weeks of training completion.
